New Products
These are just some of the new lines which we have obtained in the last few weeks: Black Stag We were very excited to meet master charcutier Manfred Hirsch of Black Stag deli butchery in Waipu recently. Manfred is producing some of the best and most authentic salamis, ham and German style sausages that we have ever tasted. We are now stocking a range of Black Stag products including Bratwurst, Fenelinos, Chorizo & Air dried Ham. Puhoi Cheese We have also started to sell a small selection of some of the wonderful Puhoi cheeses including Gorgonzola, Fresh Goat Cheese and Washed Rind Brie. As with most of our cheeses, you are welcome to come into the shop for a taste or give us a call or email and we will be happy to send you some. Johnz Wine A selection of Mead and fruit liqueurs made by expert winemaker ‘John the Wine’ of Waimate. Originally from Wales, John has utilised his many years of winemaking experience to produce a range of delicious fruit wines and liqueurs which are now available through Kaiwaka Cheese Shop. Walnut liqueur and Black Cherry liqueur are two of the current favourites.

Our History The Kaiwaka Cheese Shop is located on State Highway 1, just 20 kms north of wellsford and has been a landmark on the route north from Auckland for a number of years. The shop was founded in 1989 by Art & Maria who owned the nearby cheese factory. Originating from Holland, it was natural for A&M to start selling Dutch foods and so the shop grew. In time becoming one of a group of six franchises specialising in Dutch cheese and groceries. Nowadays, the shop is independently owned and operated and stocks a wide range of cheeses from around New Zealand, Holland, France and Switzerland. Gouda is still the mainstay of the cheese range but with over fifty different cheeses to choose from, there is something to suit every tase. |
